Guard cable

Guard cable is usually used in the highway median as an unobtrusive protection. It is installed on a steel post with wire rope to protect vehicles by reducing impact with a buffering action. The cable design, which can be two, three or more cables, acts as a web to absorb the energy of impact and keep vehicles from entering oncoming lanes.
