President, CEO, and Board Chairman, Tim Hermann announced a leadership change at Collins Hermann’s St. Louis facilities. Mr. Hermann is resigning from his position of President but will remain CEO and Board Chairman on October 18, 2010 and thus will be spending more time on CEO related activities and also with his family.
Mike Shepard will be stepping into the role of President. Tim Hermann expects that Mr. Shepard will aide in raising the bar for customer relations, staff performance, and product quality.
Mike Shepard has been with Collins & Hermann, Inc. for 10 years and is presently Vice President - Owner. Shepard says the biggest thing he has learned from Tim Hermann is to “persevere through adversity and difficulty – don’t quit; and to embrace diversity.”
Shepard comes from the "traditional world" of civil construction as opposed to having his roots in "guardrail, fence, highway signs, and metal fabrication.” Hermann said that “this ‘different perspective’ will certainly begin to change the way senior leadership at the company views long term business development and growth opportunities.”
Shepard said he is seeking to foster strong relationships between all our employees and the clients. He wants the customers to know that they are just not a fence and guardrail company. Shepard says “I hear weekly from customers “I didn’t know you did all that!”
